Paint to Music
The Symphony League invites students to create a work of visual art in the classroom setting while listening to thematic selections of music that coordinate with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) teaching objectives. Teachers participating in the program have access to musical recordings and Teacher and Student Guides.
Submitted pieces of artwork are reviewed by a panel of judges. Normally, some 150 – 200 pieces of artwork are awarded a prize. Selections of the winning artwork are showcased at culminating Student Concerts in February.
League volunteers help with the art drop-off day and organize the judging activity. They also set up art displays and assist students at the concerts.

Support for Young People's Concerts
Prints from select pieces of Paint to Music art are displayed and auctioned at select San Antonio Philharmonic concerts, raising funds to support the Young People's Concerts.
The League also selects art pieces that are printed on note cards and Fiesta medals; the sale of those cards and medals further supports the League's work.
